Si è svolta la 63esima edizione dei Grammy Awards 2021 con la consegna virtuale dei prestigiosi riconoscimenti. Una edizione tutta al femminile con i principali premi attribuiti a donne.
Nella lista delle premiate Billie Eilish con il disco dell’anno, “I Can’t Breathe” di H.E.R. come canzone dell’anno, “Folklore” di Taylor Swift come album dell’anno, Megan Thee Stallion come Best New Artist e Dua Lipa come Best Pop Vocal Album.
A completare la lista delle premiate anche Beyoncé che con i tre premi di ieri sera (Best Rap Performance insieme a Megan Thee Stallion , Best Music Video, Best R&B Performance). entra nella storia con il record di 28 premi totali in carriera battendo il primato che fino a stanotte era detenuto dalla violinista Alison Krauss con 27 premi.
Tra i premiati anche Harry Styles , due Grammy nella sezione Jazz per Chick Corea scomparso lo scorso febbraio, due premi a Fiona Apple, mentre best rap album è andato a Nas e il best R&B album a John Legend.
Lo show si è svolto a Los Angeles presso il Convention Center.
La manifestazione a porte chiuse e senza la presenza di pubblico è stata trasmessa dalla CBS e su grammy.com, a fare da padrone di casa il comico Trevor Noah.
