MARK KNOPFLER ad ottobre il cofanetto con 11 Lp “The Studio Albums 1996-2007”
Per celebrare il 25° anniversario del debutto solista del 1996, il 1° ottobre 2021 sarà pubblicato Mark Knopfler – The Studio Albums 1996-2007.
Il cofanetto, disponibile sia in versione da 11 LP sia in versione da 6 CD, contiene i primi cinque album in studio di Mark Knopfler come artista solista: Golden Heart (1996), Sailing To Philadelphia (2000), The Ragpicker’s Dream (2002), Shangri-La (2004) e Kill To Get Crimson (2007), oltre ad un bonus disc esclusivo di B-side in studio di quel periodo, dal titolo Gravy Train: The B-Sides 1996-2007. Per la prima volta Golden Heart, Sailing To Philadelphia e Gravy Train: The B-Sides 1996-2007 saranno pubblicati su vinile.
L’audio di ciascun album è stato rimasterizzato da Miles Showell agli Abbey Road Studios di Londra e gli LP sono stampati su vinile nero 180g. Il cofanetto include inoltre una download card e 6 stampe artistiche in rilievo con le copertine degli album.
Mark Knopfler, cantautore, produttore discografico e compositore, è uno dei musicisti inglesi di maggior successo ed è considerato uno dei più grandi chitarristi di tutti i tempi. È diventato famoso negli anni ’80 come leader dei Dire Straits, con cui ha composto diverse hit tra cui “Sultans Of Swing”, “Money For Nothing”, “Romeo And Juliet” e “Walk Of Life”. La band si è sciolta nel 1995 e Mark ha iniziato un nuovo percorso come artista solista. Negli anni successivi Knopfler ha pubblicato nove album da solista e ha continuato ad esibirsi in tour mondiali molto apprezzati insieme alla sua band. Mark ha inoltre scritto nel corso degli anni la musica per diversi film, tra cui Local Hero, Cal, The Princess Bride, Last Exit To Brooklyn e Wag The Dog e ha suonato e registrato con molti importanti artisti, fra cui Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Tina Turner, Randy Newman e il compianto Chet Atkins. Nel 1999 Knopfler è stato nominato The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (tra le più importanti onorificenze del Regno Unito) e nel 2012 ha ricevuto il Lifetime Achievement Award all’Ivor Novellos.
