Ecco il disco che volevo ascoltare. Dopo tanti singoli finalmente è arrivato nella sua completezza. La giusta rappresentazione delle mie alternanze umorali messe in musica.

Già dal numero di tracce, 22 per un totale di un ora e 20 minuti di musica, si capisce che non è un disco da ascoltare in modo distratto. Bisogna sedersi comodi e lasciarsi condurre.

“Notes on a Conditional Form” parte con The 1975, traccia strumentale, non l’unica all’interno dell’album, dove irrompe solo la voce di Greta Thunberg che invitava i fan a svegliarsi di fronte al disastro ambientale in corso. Dopo il tuonare di Greta si va subito al sodo, People è un pezzo che viaggia alle latitudini del punk. Stridente, tirato sia per quanto riguarda le liriche sia per i suoni: Svegliatevi !!! Smettetela di prendere per il culo i ragazzi.

Il seguito è un continuo viaggio. Una alternanza di tappe che rappresentano generi musicali differenti e che trovano l’essenza nelle parole del leader della band Matthew Healy:

Ogni volta che faccio un disco dei 1975, mi limito a sfogliare il mio catalogo musicale. E penso che “Notes on a Conditional Form” sia un disco interessante, perché mostra i nostri momenti più aggressivi e i nostri momenti più tranquilli, entrambi schierati l’uno contro l’altro”.

Difficile trovare momenti di stallo che inducono allo skip facile. Il tutto è nitido, sia liricamente sia musicalmente.

Alla fine del viaggio ti ritrovi rilassato, sereno, forse anche felice.
Senza dubbio hai passato un’ora e mezza in ottima compagnia e quasi ti viene voglia di ripartire…
