Recensione: THE STREETS – “None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive”

Considero da anni, dal suo debutto del 2002, Mike Skinner il miglior rapper di sua Maestà. 

Dopo quasi un decennio di quasi silenzio eccolo tornare con un super mixtape album.

12 tracce dove Skinner collabora, sperimenta e si diverte con un’eclettica compagnia di artisti che spaziano da Tame Impala, passando per gli IDLES, per il giovane Jimothy Lacoste e per il rap di Dapz On The Map fino Ms Banks, Jesse James Solomon, Eliza e tanti altri ancora. 

In una sua dichiarazione ufficiale Skinner ha lasciato intendere che il tema principale del mixtape è la comunicazione (o la mancanza di essa) in un mondo moderno oltremodo “connesso”.

Un Mixtape manifesto che ci riporta il talento del rapper di Birmingham libero dell’assillo da prestazione che l’aveva caricato in passato fino a farlo smettere di produrre e autonomo, nel fare quello che vuole, senza preoccuparsi troppo dei ritorni e della conseguenze che creano le logiche del music business. 

Bentornato Skinner !!!
