“mars” racconta la storia e l’esperienza di una giovane donna transgender che Harrison ha conosciuto durante il Warped Tour nel 2018.
Mi ha raccontato di come i suoi genitori l’hanno accompagnata ad un mio concerto e di come il nostro pubblico li ha aiutati a capire che il suo coming out non era solo una fase temporanea ma rappresentava chi lei fosse veramente” – ricorda l’artista. “Mi ha commosso pensare di aver avuto un simile impatto, cambiando la percezione delle persone, semplicemente rimanendo fedeli a noi stessi”.

CHI E’ YUNGBLUD
Yungblud (pseudonimo di Dominic Harrison) è un polistrumentista inglese nato nello Yorkshire (Inghilterra) che ha cominciato a interessarsi alla chitarra a due anni e a scrivere canzoni a dieci. A soli 23 anni l’artista è conosciuto per il suo impegno nel dare voce a quelle che considera le principali battaglie della sua generazione, usando la musica per unire e sostenere i giovani.
Dopo l’uscita dell’EP che porta il suo nome all’inizio del 2018 e di “21st Century Liability” qualche mese dopo, Yungblud ha pubblicato l’EP “the underrated youth” nel 2019, debuttando nella top 10 della classifica ufficiale inglese degli album.
All’inizio del 2020 YUNGBLUD ha vinto il premio MTV Push: Ones to Watch ed è stato inserito tra i finalisti per il riconoscimento Sound of 2020 della BBC.
Inoltre, l’artista si è anche aggiudicato il premio Best Music Video ai NME Awards 2020 a febbraio ed è stato nominato Best Push Artist agli MTV EMA 2020.
Yungblud ha già totalizzato 230 show sold-out nel mondo e ha cantato in alcuni dei più importanti festival internazionali come l’Austin City Limits o il Lollapalooza.
